POSITION: Para Professional - Lakota Language
DEPARTMENT: DistrictWide
REPORTS TO: Building Administrator
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: In accordance with school calendar and ESP Negotiated Agreement
EVALUATION: Building Administrator
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: students outside the classroom
SUMMARY: A para professional assists the teaching in helping students achieve learning objectives, supervises students outside the classroom and provides administrative support of teaching - primary instruction in Lakota Language.
QUALIFICATIONS/BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1. A high school iploma or GED
2. 48 college credits or an AA degree or a successful passing score on the PRAXIS test. College credits in elementary educations, special education or a related educational field preferred.
3. Previous experience working with children as an aide, daycare provider, or a related area working with children preferred.
4. Show proficiency in Lakota Language
5. Ability to operate a computer and related software
